Dear Meagan,
Another kidney surgery down! Dang girl I swear you know that kidney office better than the doctor does at this point ;) Well you are so close to being all done with this... one more to go!
Until then you still have a lil' bit of pain and extra energy, make sure to keep letting mom and dad know when you are going somewhere! They gotta keep tabs on you when you are not feeling well lol :) You are doing GREAT though, I am very proud of you! You are rocking it out!
So after this kidney stuff wraps up I know that you said you are very interested in starting to volunteer so you can get back into the swing of working. Here are a few of the benefits (for you) of volunteering (not to mention all the benefits for the person or group you are volunteering for):
1) Learn or develop a new skill
2) Enhance your career options
3) Be part of your community
4) Motivation and sense of achievement
5) Increasing your social and relationship skills
6) Meeting new friends
7) Increase self confidence
8) Battle depression
9) Stay physically healthy
10) Fun and fulfillment
You are going to do great with your new role! Love you :)
XOXO,
Brooke

Woodside Bible Church
Dear Meagan,
Wooo-eeee what a week! First off, I have to say that I had SO much fun coming down to visit you during my week off :) In ONE day we went for a bike ride, packed for your trip, went to PT, donated some old clothes to good will, went to Mom and Dad's for dinner, read on the back porch, AND wrapped it up with a walk! It was sooo much fun and I want to do it more often!
And then yesterday I got the pleasure of seeing your smiling face again when we went to Woodside Bible Church... what a treat :) And as Mom said, "Are you sure that was church?" haha... the band was amazing and it was so fun getting coffee and snacks afterwards! The sermon was a lil hard to follow but it was the last day of their series so I'm sure when you go next weekend it will be a little bit easier to follow at the start of a series. I'm so excited for you though joining the young adult group there! I hope you meet a lot of great people :) You will also love volunteering in the nursery (or wherever you decide), so many cute kids to help with arts & crafts, etc! Woo hoo!
I'm just excited for you and your new adventures! I know early last week was kind of rough but I'm glad to hear your back on your normal routine now. Regardless of your challenges you can live a perfectly normal life and even a more inspired one! Keep it up girlfriend, great things are happening around you and I've never been praying so hard... I think the next few months are going to be amazing for your progression on your road to recovery :)
YOU ROCK!
Xoxo,
Brooke

Summer Days
Dear Meagan,
Summer is officially here! Well, maybe not summer, but at least warm weather! Summer is the absolute best, the sun just make everyone so happy and of course gives us more chances to get outside. This week I just wanted to share a fun summer poem with you that I found and love <3
Hopefully see you later today!
Happy Summer Days

Happy Summer Days
Tinkling wind chimes
Soaring kites
Scenes of Summer
Long, balmy nights
Aircraft against blue sky
Vapour trail writing
Lawn mowers buzzing
Barbecue lighting
Fun bouncy castles
Families out biking
Backpacks on
Walking and hiking
Splishing and splashing
Paddling pool or beach
Summer fruit tasting
Berries, kiwi and peach
Ice cream and soda
Picnics by streams
A slow game of cricket
On small village greens
A punt on the river
Or sail out to sea
Windsurf or kitesurf
Happy Summer Days
